Subject: A Lame Trio
This film is the fourth of 5 western trio films put out between Feb. and Oct. 1942 by PRC Pictures with these stars and they are so bad you have to ask yourself just what were they thinking. Art Davis, a fair actor and western singer is O.K.(Quite natural, actually). Bill Boyd (Billed as Cowboy Rambler)was probably the most famous due to his extensive recordings for RCA Victor and Bluebird with his western-swing band, but a non-actor. Lee Powell, known for serials at Republic and on the way to the U.S. Marine Corp, comes across as wooden and somewhat effete as a cowboy actor. This particular film is inane, strictly grade D, even for PRC. This particular copy has no sound for about the last 5 minutes, when I viewed it anyway. Also strange, no background music at all, for a western! Some songs (too many)however by Davis and Boyd. Curiosity value only.
